Announcing a New Annual Symposium: Focused on Local Scientific Research Relevant to Alzheimer’s and Related Diseases Diagnostics and Treatment
This was an exciting new symposium highlighting the breadth of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) research led by the next generation of scientists. This event showcased innovative work from high school, undergraduate and graduate students, interns, trainees, and early-career scientists across the San Diego region, and featured a Panel Discussion on Career Pathways in the San Diego Area.
Attendees also enjoyed opportunities for networking, interdisciplinary dialogue, and engagement with cutting-edge researchers across the local scientific community.

Abstracts were competitively selected from submissions by:
- High school students
- Undergraduate students
- Graduate students
- Medical students
- Post-doctoral fellows
- Early-career investigators
from academia and industry.
Those chosen were notified on July 15, 2025
There were wonderful oral and poster presentations.
All data was and is directly relevant to current or future Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias research.

- Drug development

We invited all members of the public interested in learning about Alzheimer’s research to join us, and we are grateful to the many attendees for spending the day with us and honoring the next generation of scientists training to provide the world with better treatments for all aspects of Alzheimer’s Disease and related conditions.

Program Details
Students in both tracks will receive an hourly compensation of $20.00.
