Shelley Moore

Program Administrator

Biography

Shelley Moore joined USC Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute (USC ATRI) in 2015 to facilitate and steward partnerships that accelerate better trials for better Alzheimer’s treatments.  In her role as Program Administrator, she raises awareness and leverages technological mediums for innovation. She has worked closely with the best Alzheimer’s investigators in the world to conduct clinical trials such as the A4 Study and observational studies like the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI). Rooted in her “lay audience” perspective, she strives to provide education and connections between research and all those who stand to benefit, especially those most at risk for the impact of Alzheimer’s disease.

In 2019, she was accepted as a professional track member of the inaugural 2020 class of the Institute on Methods and Protocols for Advancement of Clinical Trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related Dementias (IMPACT-AD). She continues working with this comprehensive training program to increase the pipeline of qualified and diverse investigators, now as an alumna.

As part of the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium, she has worked as a member of a variety of committees and task forces, such as the Research Participant Advisory Board (RPAB). It is in the RPAB role, that she is brings her personal motivations to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease to bare.

Her paternal grandfather died from Alzheimer’s and her maternal grandmother is currently suffering from dementia. She is driven to become a super-ager and find the first survivor so that her twin daughters will not carry the heavy burden of this disease.

A proud University of Southern California alum, she is thrilled to be back working for Keck School of Medicine.  She started at the USC Doheny Eye Institute upon graduation, working with the late Dr. Stephen Ryan.  As the first woman in her family to attend college, the opportunity and responsibility to be working for her alma-mater in her hometown of San Diego has been an unexpected Trojan Family gift!

Paul Aisen received his B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard and his medical degree from Columbia. He completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and then fellowship training in rheumatology at New York University.
