Announcing a New Symposium: Showcasing Local Scientific Progress in Alzheimer’s Disease Research

Join us for an exciting new symposium highlighting the breadth of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) research led by the next generation of scientists. This event will showcase innovative work from undergraduate and graduate students, interns, trainees, and early-career scientists across the San Diego region, and will feature a Panel Discussion on Career Pathways in the San Diego Area.

Attendees will also enjoy opportunities for networking, interdisciplinary dialogue, and engagement with cutting-edge researchers across the local scientific community.

Abstract submissions are now closed.

Abstracts have been competitively selected from submissions by:

  • High school students
  • Undergraduate students
  • Graduate students
  • Medical students
  • Post-doctoral fellows
  • Early-career investigators

from academia and industry. 

Those chosen were notified on July 15, 2025

There will be oral and  poster presentations. 

All data is directly relevant to current or future Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias research.

Presentation Topics May Include:

  • Basic & translational neuroscience
  • Clinical research and trials
  • Public health and prevention strategies
  • Biomarkers, imaging, and diagnostics
  • Data science, technology
  • Drug development

Program Details

Monday, June 17, 2024 – Friday, August 9, 2024.
Curriculum/Schedule & Logistics
Students of both tracks will be fully integrated into the ATRI network and community, via meetings and other relevant activities. Both tracks will attend all faculty seminars, ATRI Lunch Seminars, and workshops by guest speakers.

Students in both tracks will receive an hourly compensation of $20.00.
