Announcing a New Symposium: Showcasing Local Scientific Progress in Alzheimer’s Disease Research
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Join us for an exciting new symposium highlighting the breadth of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementia (ADRD) research led by the next generation of scientists. This event will showcase innovative work from undergraduate and graduate students, interns, trainees, and early-career scientists across the San Diego region, and will feature a Panel Discussion on Career Pathways in the San Diego Area.
Attendees will also enjoy opportunities for networking, interdisciplinary dialogue, and engagement with cutting-edge researchers across the local scientific community.
We invite:
- High school students
- Undergraduate students
- Graduate students
- Medical students
- Post-doctoral fellows
- Early-career investigators
from both academia and industry to submit abstracts for oral or poster presentations. Projects should be directly relevant to current or future Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) research.
Presentation Topics May Include:
- Basic & translational neuroscience
- Clinical research and trials
- Public health and prevention strategies
- Biomarkers, imaging, and diagnostics
- Data science, technology
- Drug development
Submission Guidelines:
- Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should follow the standard research format: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
- Please submit your abstract by 5:00 PM PT, July 11, 2025.

- Notifications of acceptance will be sent on July 15, 2025.
Selected presenters will be chosen for an oral presentation or poster presentation during the symposium at the USC Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute in San Diego on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, from 9AM – 5PM. The top abstracts will be recognized with awards.

Program Details
Students in both tracks will receive an hourly compensation of $20.00.
