Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC)
The goal of the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) is to provide an optimal infrastructure, utilizing centralized resources and shared expertise, to accelerate the development of effective interventions for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
The goal of ACTC is to provide an optimal infrastructure, utilizing centralized resources and shared expertise, to accelerate the development of effective interventions for ADRD. ATRI Recruitment Engagement and Retention (RER) faculty and staff direct and staff the ACTC RER Unit. The RER team works on the following studies: AHEAD, LiBBY, START, and the Tau Platform.
ACTC - Down Syndrome
ACTC-DS launched its first major project, the Trial Ready-Cohort for Down syndrome (TRC-DS) in 2024 TRC-DS will enroll 250 participants with DS into a longitudinal study which includes brain scans, blood tests, memory tests in advance of upcoming randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials for Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome. Participants in TRC-DS will be provided the opportunity to enroll into these clinical trials aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome.

The Recruitment, Engagement and Retention (RER) Section leads efforts around recruitment, engagement and retention for studies across the spectrum of AD/ADRD; including observational and interventional studies.
