Biography<\/h2>\n

[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.19.4″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]Michael Donohue is Professor of Neurology at the Keck School of Medicine and Associate Director of Biostatistics at the Alzheimer\u2019s Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI). He received his PhD in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego.<\/p>\n

Dr. Donohue applies novel statistical methods to data from natural history studies and clinical trials to better understand the multivariate course of markers of Alzheimer\u2019s progression, and design innovative clinical trials to prevent or slow the progression of disease. He has studied the risk of cognitive decline associated with elevated brain amyloid in cognitively normal individuals; and helped design the first intervention in asymptomatic Alzheimer\u2019s, the Anti-Amyloid Treatment for Asymptomatic Alzheimer\u2019s (the A4 Study; in collaboration with Eli Lilly), and its primary outcome measure, the Preclinical Alzheimer Cognitive Composite. He has been awarded grants to develop innovative statistical approaches for Alzheimer\u2019s from the National Institute on Aging; the Alzheimer\u2019s Association, Michael J. Fox Foundation, and W. Garfield Weston Foundation; and the Clinical and Translation Research Institute of the University of California, San Diego[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text disabled_on=”on|on|on” _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” custom_margin=”50px||20px||false|false” disabled=”on” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n

Paul Aisen received his B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Harvard and his medical degree from Columbia. He completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York, and then fellowship training in rheumatology at New York University.<\/p>\n
