ACTC

The goal of the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium (ACTC) is to provide an optimal infrastructure, utilizing centralized resources and shared expertise, to accelerate the development of effective interventions for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Biostatistics faculty and staff direct and staff the ACTC Biostatistics Unit. The Biostatistics team works on the following studies: AHEAD, A4, LiBBY, START.

ACTC-DS

The goal of the Alzheimer’s Clinical Trials Consortium – Down Syndrome (ACTC-DS) is to provide an optimal infrastructure, utilizing centralized resources and shared expertise, to accelerate the development of effective interventions for Alzheimer’s disease in Down syndrome. The Biostatistics team works on the following studies: TRC-DS.

LEADS

The Longitudinal Early-onset AD Study (LEADS) is funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) to address several major gaps in Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias research. LEADS is an observational study following cognitively impaired participants and cognitively normal participants. The primary goal of LEADS is to develop sensitive clinical and biomarker measures for future clinical and research use.

U.S. POINTER

The Alzheimer’s Association U.S. Study to Protect Brain Health Through Lifestyle Intervention to Reduce Risk (U.S. POINTER) is a two-year clinical trial to evaluate whether lifestyle interventions — a combination of diet, exercise, heart health, and cognitive challenge and social engagement — that simultaneously target many risk factors protect cognitive function in older adults who are at increased risk for cognitive decline. 

WW-FINGERS

The World Wide FINGERS (WW-FINGERS) is an interdisciplinary network to share experiences, harmonize data and plan joint international initiatives to reduce risk of cognitive impairment or dementia. The WW-FINGER Network comprises studies at different stages of implementation and with varying graduations of alignment to the FINGER trial.
